Hello! I'm sorry if I haven't posted in a while it's because I've been skipping from one book to another lately. With my brain that can't make decisions right, I kept on starting on reading books that I don't want to finish-- not in a bad way-- I don't want to finish the books because I don't want the book to stop. I've started reading Allegiant and Gone, but apparently stopped reading them just because this book got me so interested so I picked it up yesterday and read it all throughout the day. I kept on stopping myself from reading it in a day but the story is so good that I don't ever want to stop. I feel like I've attached myself too much from this book that I want to read the next book (which I now have, I'll be posting my book haul soon once some of the books I've ordered already are in the mail!) but of course, there's two sides to that: one side is that I don't want to finish the next book just because the last book will come out somewhere this year and the other side is I want to start reading the second book already because I want to feel giddy and happy and in love again. I’m afraid to make a book review about Anna and the French Kiss because I might not explain everything well and through enough to give the book some justice that it deserves. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! I honestly cannot fathom how can someone not like this book! I thought that it’ll just be another cliché story in Paris but it’s not!!! Well, maybe its a little bit cliché, however, it is somewhat different. Okay now I’m out of words. It is so good!!! I swear that you wouldn’t be able to put it down so a little warning if you’re going to read this book: Make sure you have the entire day to indulge yourself with pure happiness, sweetness, cuteness and loneliness + you’ll pretty much scream because of two reasons: from all the feels and for being mad at a character. So as my every post go, here’s a little synopsis about the book.

Anna is sent to study in School of America in Paris for her senior year. Apparently, she’s not ecstatic about it, (which is completely weird because if my parents sent me to study in Paris I’ll probably flip out and cry) because things in America, specifically in Atlanta are going pretty well. She’s happy to hang out with her best friend and the cute guy at her work that she’s been crushing on is starting to feel the same way about her! So when she was already in Paris, she was pretty lonely, and cries and gets homesick and misses her life and her kind-of-almost boyfriend. But things changed when she met the most, handsome and hot and gorgeous and perfect in every way possible, St. Clair. Okay, maybe his name is weird but he’s hot so deal with it. Anyway, if you think she’s lucky to meet someone as beautiful as St. Clair, then you’re wrong because he’s taken (don’t worry this is not a spoiler, it’s actually at the back of the book!) and St. Clair ends up as her best friend. So yeah, that’s the synopsis of Anna and the French Kiss, I really hope that you’d read this book because I RECOMMEND it!!! It’s such a cute and quick read. I love this book because you’ll really see how their relationship/friendship would develop!

For the non-spoilery section! Okay, so I don’t know how to start this book talk since a lot of things are going on in my mind right now that I badly want to write but I’m afraid that it might not come out as I want the words to be. But anyway, let me start off my how stupid they are for not seeing that they OBVIOUSLY like each other! I mean, everyone knows about it, so you don’t have to hide it because it’s pretty obvious, you know. Who wouldn’t notice the way Anna and St. Clair look at each other? THEY’RE TOO ADORABLE AND THAT CANNOT BE LEFT UNSEEN BY ANYONE. I love how close they are with each other that they mistook love as a friendship/best friend kind of thing even though it’s far away from that! But I’d have to say that they’re friendship is too cute! Especially the part when Anna ordered by herself! HAHAHA OMG THAT PART IS MY FAVORITE!!! I literally cracked up when St. Clair shouted across the room “NOW THAT WASN’T SO TERRIBLE, WAS IT, ANNA?” Hahahaha okay that part!!!!!! That’s just too cute!!! How naïve Anna to think that the chefs doesn’t know how to speak in English in a school where Americans study! Hahahaha!! And I also like the scene after that, when Anna raised her middle finger at him and he’s just like “peace” OKAY THAT WAS THE MOST BEST FRIEND-EST THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK (or maybe not). I liked their friendship-- it’s just the laid-back, cute and happy and i-like-you-but-you’re-taken-so-you’re-just-my-bestfriend. It’s so cute that they seem to “friendzone” each other, having no idea that they like each other! How can they not feel that? Hahaha~ But I’d have to say that St. Clair and Anna are doing a great job at keeping away from the line. If I didn’t know better, I prolly would’ve thought that maybe they’re just friends who treats each other as if they’re together kind of thing. Another thing that made me laugh is when St. Clair borrowed the pen from Anna and leaned in to her just when the professeur is assigning the lab partners HAHAHA OKAY THAT’S JUST CUTE AND HILARIOUS! How St. Clair admitted to Anna at the end that he did that intentionally, that’s just sweet, okay. I knew that St. Clair liked her from the start but the fact that he doesn’t want to break up with Ellie makes my judgment blurry enough not to see that he loves her so much.

There are some things that I hate in this book. Don’t get me wrong but it’s not about the story but it’s about the way the characters think and act. I hate the fact that St. Clair doesn’t want to break up with Ellie just because he’s afraid to be alone. I know that it’s hard to lose someone who’s been with you for the long time like they’re the only permanent thing in your life and you don’t want things to change with the way your life is going, that’s completely logical. But the thing is he’s not going to be alone! Anna has been with him all this time and he doesn’t even see that? Anna stayed with him when he needed her the most. Anna stayed with him despite the fact that she knows that they’re just going to be friends, she kept herself from falling in love with St. Clair just because she’s afraid that she’ll ruin everything (and of course, to avoid her heart to be broken). I was so annoyed when Anna and St. Clair were in the club (that moment though), everything were going so well that I’m screaming my lungs out from happiness and then the next thing I knew I was screaming my heart and lungs and my organs out when St. Clair panicked the moment he knew that Ellie’s roommate saw him and Anna “dancing”. I’m felt so sad for Anna, and pissed off at St. Clair for being such a jerk. To be honest, I was on the verge of throwing the book and also on the verge of doubting St. Clair’s role in this book. I kinda thought that he was really a jerk or something who likes to play around and mess with the feelings of the girls who like him just because he’s the most perfect creature ever. I thought he was taking advantage of what he has. I feel ashamed for doubting him, but who would’nt give second thoughts on someone who doesn’t want to break up with his girlfriend and OBVIOUSLY flirts with his “best friend”. Plus he also knew about Meredith’s feelings for him. And that moment when he left for Meredith, I WAS SO PISSED OFF LIKE YOU DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW MAD I AM. He was kissing the hell out of Anna and then the next second he’s off to chase Meredith and off to cry to his freaking girlfriend who dressed up as a “slutty” nurse on Halloween. I was like “Okay so where is the story going? Is Anna going to end up being a loner in Paris?”

I also hated the part where Toph was such a huge meanie all along; he wasn’t even interested in her! The kiss meant nothing to him and now he’s all over Anna’s best friend Bridge? Has he even though about the fact that they’re best friends and he’s ruining everything? I felt somewhat betrayed too by Bridge but I don’t want to talk about her since I don’t think that her and Toph’s relationship is wrong and illegal. I mean, it’s not like Anna and Toph were together because if that’s the case then Bridge totally crossed the line. Aside from that part, everything in Anna’s stay in Atlanta was good! I loved their emails!!!! IT’S SO FREAKING ADORABLE LIKE I CAN’T EVEN! They share stories that are funny, silly and personal. They’re really the kind of best friends that are really best friends, not just for the label (okay that’s confusing but I do hope that you get my point). And you know what’s even cuter? They slept on the same bed without being so “hot” about the moment. St. Clair, you my friend, is officially a gentleman, no doubt about it, hands down! How they spent the Thanksgiving together is the cutest thing. Anna made St. Clair get out from his misery and I feel thankful for her because I was starting get all worried for St. Clair since Ellie is so dumb. St. Clair don’t obviously deserve someone like Ellie, he deserves someone like Anna! (WELL OF COURSE).

The ending is great. I love how she patched and weaved everything up together. I love how she didn’t leave us hanging and wondering what would happen next because it’s pretty obvious that they’re happy with each other after all they’ve been through. I love how St. Clair admitted everything to her; how he said everything he really wanted to say to her from the very beginning. I love how he stood up to his father. I love how he conquered his fear of heights just to chase Anna in Notre Dame. I love how the City of Love is the setting of the story because it perfectly fit the image and scene. I love how Anna was speechless and St. Clair was like “Will you please tell me you love me? I’m dying here.” I love how there’s another chapter after the confession and love thingy. I love everything in this book. And it’s so rare for me to not ask for more in a book’s ending. The ending is perfect, just the way it is. This book is perfect, just like Paris and Anna and St. Clair’s love story.
